2024/25 Resilience and Regeneration Grant Recipients
5 grants awarded totalling $124,972
Resilience and Regeneration grants support community recovery from and preparation for natural disaster emergencies. The focus of the grant stream is to support resilience and regeneration of our communities with grants up to $25,000.
The Resilience and Regeneration grants are supported by Paul Ramsay Foundation, the Northern Rivers Community Foundation’s Recovery and Resilience Fund and NSW Reconstruction Authority.

LOCAL CONNECTS TO GLOBAL
The United Nations has adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030. Each project in our 2022/23 Community Grants round is relevant to the goals as outlined below.

POSITIVE CHANGE FOR MARINE LIFE
Rewilding our Floodplains
This project will increase the capacity of Arakwal cultural monitors to support successful rewilding and reconnection of natural buffers like mangroves and riparian forests, citizen science and mapping, calculating blue carbon flows, and conducting community engagement.



ZERO EMISSIONS BYRON
Ecocultural Fire Training for Biodiverse and Bushfire Resilient Communities
The project will build capacity among key land management stakeholders to support and implement ecocultural fire across the Northern Rivers.



PLAN C
Preparing with Pride: LGBTIQ+ Resilience Project
This project will deliver a series of tailored disaster preparedness workshops to the LGBTIQ+ community, focusing on practical skills for responding to natural hazards, as well as trauma-informed care and psychological first aid.



RESILIENT UKI
Community Emergency HUB Guide
This project will create a Community Emergency Hub Guide to support communities across the Northern Rivers to ensure that the community’s response efforts are aligned with the broader emergency management framework.



AUTISM CAMP AUSTRALIA
Natural Disaster Readiness and Recovery for Autistic Families
This project will provide resources and strategies to enhance emotional resilience, trauma recovery, and disaster preparedness for Autistic people and their families.
