2022 Quick Response Flood Relief Grant Recipients
Northern Rivers Community Foundation, in partnership with the Byron Community Centre, launched the Flood Relief Fund to offer quick response grants of up to $10,000 to community organisations to provide flood relief and recovery for the Northern Rivers.
As of 11 May, 2022 an incredible $1,308,655 had been raised and 103 Quick Response Grants had been funded, for community organisations who are already imbedded, connected and trusted to provide disaster recovery support in their local communities.
Winsome / Lismore Soup Kitchen
Rebuild kitchen for feeding the homeless and residents in need in the Lismore region. There has been a significant increase in needs for meal service in Lismore.
Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre

Vouchers to support immediate needs and recovery for local residents around Woodburn, Coraki and Broadwater.

Industrial fridge to store bulk amounts of donated pantry fresh food supplies, to support distribution of free meals in the Tweed region.

Emergency filtration equipment to assist with rescuing and rehabilitating sea turtles suffering from poor water quality, parasites and micro-plastic ingestion.

North Coast Community Housing
Supporting the continuation of trauma support for community housing services. Around 120 homes (10%) were lost during the floods. Their team of 22 staff are currently displaced and working from homes and cars.
Replacement vehicle and repairs to drop-in centre and workshop to assist with urgent voluntarily flood repairs and building works around Murwillumbah.
