2022 Quick Response Flood Relief Grant Recipients

Northern Rivers Community Foundation, in partnership with the Byron Community Centre, launched the Flood Relief Fund to offer quick response grants of up to $10,000 to community organisations to provide flood relief and recovery for the Northern Rivers.

As of 11 May, 2022 an incredible $1,308,655 had been raised and 103 Quick Response Grants had been funded, for community organisations who are already imbedded, connected and trusted to provide disaster recovery support in their local communities.

Winsome / Lismore Soup Kitchen

Rebuild kitchen for feeding the homeless and residents in need in the Lismore region. There has been a significant increase in needs for meal service in Lismore.

Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre

Evans Head, Woodburn, Coraki, Broadwater
Vouchers to support immediate needs and recovery for local residents around Woodburn, Coraki and Broadwater.

Vibe Care Pantry

Tweed Heads
Industrial fridge to store bulk amounts of donated pantry fresh food supplies, to support distribution of free meals in the Tweed region.

Australia Seabird & Turtle Rescue

Emergency filtration equipment to assist with rescuing and rehabilitating sea turtles suffering from poor water quality, parasites and micro-plastic ingestion.

NRCG Food Pantry & Laundry

Re-fit of facility, including food pantry and laundry, to support welfare and community capacity building programs for disadvantaged people and communities.

Temporary office setup to ensure immediate continuity of wide range of community support services.

Providing flood recovery support and services to the local Aboriginal Community, including restoring the Community Homework Centre which assists families and children in crisis centres with food, clothing, electronics, school resources, so they can get back to school and transition out of crisis response.

North Coast Community Housing

Supporting the continuation of trauma support for community housing services. Around 120 homes (10%) were lost during the floods. Their team of 22 staff are currently displaced and working from homes and cars.


Replacement vehicle and repairs to drop-in centre and workshop to assist with urgent voluntarily flood repairs and building works around Murwillumbah.

Replacing stock and equipment to help recommence key activities that support their programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in the Clarence Valley region.
