Helping our community respond to the local housing crisis
In response to the growing housing crisis in the Northern Rivers and a need to channel funding where it is needed most, the NRCF has launched a new Housing Fund. Through this Fund, there are two avenues to give, to support the immediate needs of our community and longer term housing solutions.
IMPACT NOW
Help community organisations who are on the ground supporting those in crisis. Local organisations will have an opportunity to apply for this funding through a dedicated NRCF grant program.
Examples of the types of projects and organisations your donation could support:
The Shift Project
Linen Shift: a social enterprise for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Byron Bay Community Centre
Wet Weather Project, providing a refuge for displaced rough sleepers in the event of extreme weather.
The Winsome & Lismore Soup Kitchen
The Homeless to Home project, supporting the renovation of accommodation rooms for marginalised men at the Winsome Hotel.
Women Up North Housing
Supporting a refuge for women, children and young people impacted by domestic violence and homelessness.
HOUSING FIRST
NRCF is working on a number of housing solutions that bring together local and state government, housing providers, philanthropists and social impact investors, builders at cost, developers and pro bono professionals.
Donate to the Housing First Fund and help grow affordable and low-cost housing in our region.
Examples of the type of housing projects NRCF is working on:
Long Term Rentals
Secure long term rentals for 55+ women in zero emission housing.
Emergency Accommodation
Short term crisis accommodation for people at risk of homelessness.
Low Cost Housing
