NRCF Grantseekers Workshops - August 2023

Grantseeker Workshops – A Roaring Success

In collaboration with FRRR our Grants Team held a number of Grantseeker Workshops in August in Casino, Murwillumbah, Kyogle, Grafton and Lismore.

The Grantseeker Workshops were designed to support local community groups to build skills and confidence in applying for grant funding, ahead of the opening of our Annual Community Grants Round on August 28th, 2023.

Our fabulous NRCF Grants Team of Kyla White and Jen Smith offered practical grant-writing tips for what to prepare before submitting an application and how to make it shine. The workshops aimed to equip community organisations with the knowledge and tools to present the best possible grant application.

FRRR’s presentation from April Merrick included valuable information covering skills across the four stages of grant seeking: Preparation and Planning; Identifying Opportunities; Grant Writing; Reporting.

Every workshop was fully booked, with organisations jumping at the opportunity to meet the grants team and develop their project ideas in preparation for the Community Grants round this year.

Attendee’s feedback praised the informative workshops;

“Very clear and precise workshop, with lovely and warm presenters. The Logic Model exercise was helpful to more deeply understand the application requirements.”

“This is very helpful. Thank you so much. It answered a lot of questions that I had regarding the grant writing process.”

“Thanks for the informative workshop around grant writing. Very appreciative and can’t wait to start the next application.”

For those organisations that missed out or were unable to attend, an informative video presentation has been created by Kyla and Jen and can be accessed here and the FRRR presentation can be watched here.
