WILDLIFE HOSPITAL

On November 22, close to 100 people dedicated to the care and conservation of our precious wildlife, met in Bangalow to discuss the establishment of a dedicated Wildlife Hospital in the Northern Rivers of NSW. On a daily basis Veterinary Hospitals throughout the region admit sick and injured wildlife – often these general practices don’t have the time or expertise to offer the best care possible for our native animals.

The response that night and since has been incredible. Offers of land and facilities were instant; people offering their services, skills and time has been overwhelming; and the passion behind this project is unprecedented.

The organizing group is now in the process of formalizing an operating entity, appointing a board and members, and aiming to starting services as soon as possible.

It is very likely that Phase One of this project could commence early in 2019, and that wildlife will have a dedicated centre for treatment, hospitalization and rehabilitation very soon.

What the project desperately needs now is funding, and many other essential services, including legal, accounting, information technology and social media.
